401 - Getting on Board with Nursing Accreditation

The session will focus on nursing accreditation and the process for initial or continuing accreditation. The tides are changing in nursing education and the ACEN Standards and Criteria are here to help us all move with the times. Are you ready? Nursing programs accredited by the ACEN, or seeking initial accreditation, must implement the 2023 Standards and Criteria beginning January 1, 2024. Join the ACEN Directors for an overview of the new Standards and Criteria so you are ready for this change. We will also discuss the benefits of accreditation, the process of accreditation, and give tips for report writing and preparing for an initial or continuing accreditation site visit.

Objectives:

  1. Describe the benefits of having an accredited nursing program.
  2. Discuss the accreditation process.
  3. Discuss the components of the 2023 Standards and Criteria.
  4. Describe how to prepare for an initial or continuing accreditation visit.
