Assistant Clinical Professor
Emory University Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing
Chelsea O. P. Hagopian, DNP, APRN, AGACNP-BC, is an assistant clinical professor at the Emory University Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing and serves as executive director of the Georgia Nursing Workforce Center. She is an ANCC board-certified adult-gerontology acute care nurse practitioner and has practiced clinically in the field of plastic and reconstructive surgery as a nurse and nurse practitioner for more than 10- and 7-years, respectively. Her research and scholarship focus on informed consent and nursing ethics. Hagopian completed her Bachelor and Master of Science in Nursing at Emory University Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing, as well as her Doctor of Nursing Practice in Health Systems Leadership. She also serves on the board of the Emory Nurses’ Alumni Association.
Hagopian is incredibly passionate about nursing ethics and encouraging both student nurses and actively practicing nurses (across all roles and settings) to voice their unique nursing perspective using the lens of nursing’s shared core values, professional code of ethics, and social mandate through activities of civic professionalism, scholarly and scientific writing, safe use of social media, and other forms of professional-, patient-, and general non-academic public-facing communication platforms. She completed a fellowship in teaching and education at the Emory University Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing and is presently participating in the Emory University Healthcare Ethics Leadership Academy through the Healthcare Ethics Consortium and the Emory University Center for Ethics, where she is focusing her enthusiasm for ethics on innovative curricula for ethics education in nursing.
