Lorraine Cupelli, MS, RN is a full-time Associate Professor of Nursing at Queensborough Community College (QCC), and her focus has been on student-centered and experiential learning and the use of peer and faculty-led instruction and mentoring as a strategy to enhance retention and progression of nursing students. Publications include topics of student pedagogy, meaningful learning, and engagement.
She is one of the faculty advisors for the Perkins Grant and the mentoring program's recent initiatives include the coordination and implementation of anatomy and physiology refresher and wellness workshops. She is also currently involved with integrating the clinical judgment model with students participating in simulated scenarios using standardized actors.
Ms. Cupelli has previously developed a peer ambassadorship program to promote gender diversity in the nursing profession and was a mentoring coordinator for a nurse workforce diversity grant from the Health and Human Services Health Resources and Services Department.
