Kristin Davies is an Assistant Professor of Nursing at Widener University in Chester, PA. Previously, she was an Assistant Professor at Montgomery County Community College in Blue Bell, PA. She obtained her PhD from Widener University in 2022. Today's presentation, Incorporation of Social Determinants of Health in Associate Degree Nursing Programs is her dissertation work. The passion for this topic came from her nursing and volunteer experiences in acute care, ambulatory care, and community settings. Dr. Davies saw how SDOH needs were evident with individuals which negatively impacted their health outcomes. She saw how nurses could make a difference with these needs. This launched her mission to establish a change in nursing education. In addition to her teaching practice, Dr. Davies works clinically at an ambulatory procedure unit and as a community outreach nurse.
