Dareni N. Lowe is a Master of Health Administration/Master of Business Administration student. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from both Syracuse University and Niagara College with her nursing degrees. She also obtained a Bachelors’ in Business Administration from Brock University. Dareni is a forward thinking, transformational, thought, and servant leader. She is currently the Marketplace Manager at Sigma Marketplace, a subsidiary of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor society of Nursing. She serves as the DE&I Co-Chair for Advocate-Atrium Health- CMC Main (since 2021), is a Sigma Theta Tau Member (since 2010), Founding President of Lexington Black Nurses Association (BNA) in 2011 and Queen City National Black Nurses Association (QCNBNA) in 2021; local chapters of the National Black Nurses Association, and Immediate Past President of QCNBNA Chapter (since 2023) of the National Black Nurses Association (NBNA). Dareni has served on multiple boards (such as Kaohsiung American School – Vice President -Board of Directors, Kaohsiung American School-International Strategic Director/Head of School Search Committee, ECPI University- Charlotte Campus Advisory Board, and the UK College of Nursing Diversity Advisory Council). Dareni also worked as an adjunct instructor at I-Shou University, Kaohsiung City, Kaohsiung, Taiwan. Prior to joining Sigma Theta Tau, Dareni served in various leadership roles from Nurse Manager, Hospital Administrator, to Director of Nursing at acute care organizations that included academic medical institutions, for-profit organizations, and community hospitals. Dareni worked in the business sector for almost a decade prior to transitioning to nursing as her second degree. Dareni is passionate about assisting nurses in leadership development, she is passionate about ensuring safe, equitable, compassionate care is provided in an inclusive environment, that equitable experiences are a focus and available for all employees and assists with identifying opportunities in diversity, equity, and inclusion. As well, Dareni focuses on utilizing innovation and technology to advance nursing practice according to evidence-based practices (EBPs).
