Presently, Tonya is the Director, Nurse Consultants for Kaplan North America. Her areas of interest and expertise are nursing school success, NCLEX success, learning science, academic integrity, test construction, and item writing. She is a member of the Sigma Theta Tau Nursing Honor Society, Organization of Associate Degree Nursing, National League of Nursing, and the International Center for Academic Integrity along with state and local organizations.

Tonya has over 30 years of experience as a registered nurse in the clinical and educational settings. She received her ADN from Northeast Texas Community College, BSN & MSN from University of Phoenix as well as Master Business Administration. Currently she is attending Purdue University Global for Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP). She has served in many roles including nursing faculty and director roles in practical nursing, associate degree and baccalaureate nursing programs.

Nursing is a passion of hers, and nursing education is the fuel to excite her passion. She shares a home with Yorkshire terriers, Jack & Max. She enjoys walking, reading, and cooking!
