Lori Shank, DNP, MSN, RN, CPN is the Director of the Registered Nursing program at Johnson County Community College (JCCC) in Overland Park, Kansas. In her current role as Program Director, Lori leads the registered nursing department in accordance with local, state, and professional education essentials and practices. She is also involved in fostering clinical agency affiliations and relationships, coordinating the RN didactic and clinical curriculum, and facilitating the matriculation of students through a selective admission process and transition to professional credentialing and practice. Before this role, Lori was a full-time nursing faculty member at the same institution since 2014, teaching didactic and clinical in a concept-based curriculum across the lifespan. Lori has been a registered nurse for 28 years, and although she began her career at the bedside in medical-surgical acute care nursing, she has also worked in family practice, Phase 1 clinical research, and pediatric acute care nursing. Lori retains her pediatric nurse certification and recently completed her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree in nursing organizational leadership at the University of Mary in April 2023. Lori also holds a Master of Science in Nursing Administration from the University of Mary and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Rockhurst University. Lori retains active membership in OADN, NLN, and ANA.
