This workshop will provide nurse educators with tools and strategies to change and/or update the way they teach for the learners of today. We will discuss student engagement, active learning strategies, the interactivity of learning, and the role of the educator as coach. Immediately following the workshop will be a supplemental session will provide an overview of two of ATI’s solutions for nursing education: the Engage Series and Real Life Clinical Scenarios. Participants will then take on the role of the student and experience the depth of learning that is possible with one of these solutions. As the supplemental session is product-based, it is not offered for CE credit.
Objectives:
Discuss the reasons why teaching needs to change.
Compare and contrast educator attributes that need to change or be updated.
Explore ways to increase student engagement through interactive learning and active learning strategies.
Determine how to change the way you teach in order to fully engage students.
